Big congratulations to our very own Will Jay who has landed a fantastic new opportunity at Plymouth Marine Laboratory!

Will has worked with us over the last two summers while he was studying Geography at the University of Brighton, achieving a First Class degree with Honours. He has been a great asset as a GIS Developer/Researcher and has been responsible for enhancing the potential of historical records and for diversifying our mining archive GIS.

Will has previously worked on exciting projects, including the development of a remote monitoring process to assess the condition of forests using ground-based radar. He also used his GIS skills to map soil and drainage features and to assess and model potential sites for new irrigation infrastructure in Africa.

Will has a keen interest in the application of remote sensing technology in a broad range of geo-environmental disciplines and has just secured a position as an Earth Observation Data Analyst with Plymouth Marine Laboratory. Will has been a lively and diligent member of our team and he’ll be missed!
